2026 Rising Stars
Rowdy Shea
Rowdy grew up in Bowling Green and attended South Warren High School. Reflecting on his upbringing, he said, “We had the quintessential upbringing in Bowling Green, and we’re proud to be from here.”
Athletics and horses were a large part of his childhood. His passion for music began around the age of 20 when his mother encouraged him to pursue his music dreams.“I was at a crossroads in my life, and she told me to pick something I loved and go for it,” Shea recalled. After taking a vocal lesson, he fell in love with singing and quickly picked up the guitar. When those 2 worlds collided, he knew where he was always meant to be.
He has been a contestant on NBC’s “The Voice” where he competed on Team Gwen. Since then, he’s been writing with some of Nashville’s finest and getting ready to release his first solo project.
When he’s not playing a show, you can probably find Rowdy working with horses in some way shape or form. He has covered a lot of cowboy miles doing just about every job you can name.
Rowdy Shea is where the western sky meets top 40 country radio.
We are very excited to welcome Rowdy to the Gatlinburg Songwriters family!

NOAH PATTEN
Noah Patten is a Clarksville, Tennessee-based singer-songwriter with a southern soul, an outlaw spirit, and a deep respect for country music that speaks truth. His songs are built on honest lyrics, strong melodies, and the kind of real-life detail that comes from living it, not just writing about it. With roots in classic country and a style that stays raw, heartfelt, and unapologetically southern.
JESS JOCOY
Nashville-based singer-songwriter Jess Jocoy crafts what she calls “cul-de-sac country”—a cinematic blend of folk storytelling, country twang, and atmospheric Americana. Raised outside Seattle, Jocoy’s music has been praised by Saving Country Music who claimed, “Jess Jocoy’s songwriting is too good to remain in the shadows” and by No Depression for her “smooth blend of traditional country and folk sounds.”
Since releasing her acclaimed albums Such a Long Way (2020) and Let There Be No Despair (2022), Jocoy has earned growing recognition on both sides of the Atlantic. She was crowned the winner of Americana-UK’s Twang Factor 2, named Caffè Nero Artist of the Month with airplay in over 750 cafés across the UK, and has been featured on BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Radio Ulster, and NPR’s Mountain Stage with Kathy Mattea.
A frequent presence on the songwriter festival circuit, Jocoy has performed at AmericanaFest, Island Hopper Songwriter Festival, Annapolis Songwriters Festival, and Whitefish Songwriter Festival to name a few, and has had multiple performances at Nashville’s legendary Bluebird Café. National TV appearances on NBC’s Songland and airplay on WSM Radio, home of the Grand Ole Opry, also brought her wider attention.
Jocoy’s third studio album, Cul-de-Sac Kid, released October 24, 2025, to critical acclaim. Saving Country Music rated it 8.3/10, and included it in their “Top 25 Albums of 2025” while Music Connection gave it a rating of 8.6/10. Since release, her reach has only grown. As she expands on her signature storytelling, her music reflects on identity, belonging, and the beauty of life’s in-between places.
